The Path

Closure and resolution are powerful medications. No war, fight, or abuse of power has ever come from love and forgiveness. Our free will is our true power. It is the seed of our divinity. The process of death, the pain we’ve endured, the life we live can be forever changed in one single choice. Did we choose to forgive? Did we choose to let the pain end with us?

Choosing to take responsibility for our life is a journey back to self over and over. Those who carry love and forgiveness in their hearts every day are those who have found this path. It is easy to say that you are…It is challenging to be. Allowing forgiveness to guide your heart means sacrificing your pain. It means surrendering your judgment. Carrying the pain of the world can seem a noble cause. Forgiving is difficult; carrying compassion for that pain and not being consumed is the purest means. It alleviates the weight of judgment and guilt.

Discernment is more than the ability to judge well. It is seeing the truth within and casting that truth forward. It is the responsibility to self that creates accountability toward our personal judgments. The ability to forgive allows the closure that hangs over the pain.  When pain enters our life from an outside source, our immediate response is to judge it. Labeling of it as bad for us stokes a rage of indignation. We become the judge, the jury, and the executioner. In our perception of self, we do not see the pain of the other. We wish to harm and carry that perception forward. It is true that bad things happen to good people. It is carrying the duality of good or bad; it is in asking why me, where the disconnect from the whole is, and in the voice of the ego, we perceive our pain as greater than any others. It closes the mind and heart to compassion. It locks us into the pain.

Starting to be compassionate to self is the first step to freeing ourselves from the pain that is innate to our very life. Recognizing the inner critic and the lack of perfection allows forgiveness to open the door to freedom. Compassion for self means allowing the voices in our heads to be recognized for what they are. They are the echoes of the unresolved past. It is the perception of others bouncing off the walls of our minds. Ask those voices who they are to judge. You can only compare your uniqueness to your own. Your individuality and purity are your guides to being the perfection of you. No other can be you, and you can be no other. When you recognize the darkness in all of us and understand we each have the capacity to be the shadow, it is easier to forgive the darkness of others.

As the veil grows ever thinner, we are able to glimpse our eternity. We can see the beautiful depths of what is beyond ourselves and what is within. Great change happens one small step at a time. If we can begin to forgive ourselves, we will have more space to forgive others.

The New Moon Ritual

The New Moon is about making a wish; one spoken quietly to the universe to be made manifest through intention and stardust. The beauty of the new moon is that it is an empty vessel, what will you fill it with? As the new moon is about fresh starts and new growth it’s important to start your ritual with the same feeling. I like to clean my house, my body and energy field. The most effective way to do this is with white sage. After all, you don’t want to invite a goddess into a dirty space.

My personal preference is to use lemon and bay leaf in my daily cleaning. You can add salt water to the mix for a potent potion. I also like to play meditation music with a 432 hz tone. This sets the resonance for a sacred space. Remember that your personal preferences are very important. What makes you feel spritely, clean and new? Your cleansing ritual can be performed whenever you clean your home, not just on special occasions. It may be that I’m an earthy and orderly Capricorn but when it comes down to my home being out of order, I develop an almost OCD type of obsession with my cleansing rituals. Releasing the old allows for the space of the new. If a particular closet or storage space feels beyond your control; new moon energy is a great way to find a little order in what no longer serves you. The Creator Energy dislikes a void… It’s an open invitation for the new vibrant energies to come in.

Now that you have yourself and your space clean and tidy it’s time to begin your ritual. You will need a pen, paper, an envelope, matches or lighter, and green string or thread.

Begin by setting your sacred space. Envision a white bubble all around you, completely encompassing all of you. Ask for protection from whatever entities love you unconditionally and give them permission to guide and protect you. Then proceed to meditate and journal what it is that you want to manifest into your life. Ask your heart what your deepest desires are, let it lead you with pure intentions.

Once you have your list, look at ways in which you can achieve the goals. What needs to happen and in what order do they need to happen in? Add these to your notes. Be realistic in your desires. Is there something that you’ll need to return to school for? Is there equipment that you’ll need to invest in. How much time and money do you have to move forward?

Now that you’ve spent some time dreaming and checking in with yourself it’s time to create the most optimistic and fertile soil possible for your intentions. You need to believe that you are worthy. You need to let go of any sense of lack. Not being worthy and feeling lack are the two largest obstacles we have to face. The abandonment wound seeps into the deepest parts of our lives and it’s one that nearly everyone carries to some degree. The key ingredients to facing this hidden victim is forgiveness, the inner child, and gratitude. While these are all things to be worked on everyday, there is no need to allow it to consume you or take over your new moon ritual.

Take several deep breaths with the intention of breathing in the fresh life and healing energies on the inhale and releasing all that does not serve you on the exhale. Do this until you feel relaxed and entranced. Now imagine you living your dream. What does it look like? What does it feel like? Try to embue all of your senses with it. Let it fill you. Allow your imagination to take you to this new reality. Allow yourself to fall in love with it; be blissful within it, feel the joy of it.

Now take up your pen and a fresh piece of paper. Write a love letter to the Universe expressing your gratitude for all that you’ve received. Describe what it is that you want to make a reality as if you already have it, and you’re eternally grateful for this amazing dream come true. Once you’ve completed your letter fold it and tie with your green string. Wrap the string around it three times. Place it into your envelope and seal it. I like to place a bay leaf in the envelope with it. Now there are several options at this point. You can set it on your alter, bedside table or anyplace that you’re going to be reminded of it. You can also burn it or bury it, planting it in your garden with seeds that you wish to grow. Keep in mind that if you burn or bury your intentions then you should make sure that you are using paper that is nontoxic in every way. Wherever you decide to put your dreams and wishes is entirely up to you. No matter it’s eventual home as you place it, you should set verbal intention. Mine is as follows:

Thank you to the Divinity of the all for the abundance in my life. My deepest and most heartfelt gratitudes for the fertility before me. Thank you for the guidance, love and all that I receive within divine timing. With harm to none let my dreams become the reality I know. I am honored and humbled to be of your creation. Let it be.

I deeply encourage you to build your own rituals from these meager guidelines. Your personal flare is what will make it distinctly yours. Remember that it is not enough to merely wish for something. It is imperative that you put in the work, watch for the signs of the universe and follow the path that opens up for you. If you are too set on what it is that you asked for in the specific way in which you’ll receive it then you will block yourself.

With that I will leave you to your new moon shenanigans with much love, light and high vibrations for blessings.

To Make Sacred

To sacrifice is to make sacred. As the new moon illumes in the very near future we are being asked to surrender, to sacrifice that which does not serve our highest intentions. While we dream of our goals and set a new vision to begin we must first make sacrifices. Only the purest of modalities will do.

Our pain is sacred. Let us sacrifice it to lessons learned and embrace the blessings of wisdom to carry us through new beginnings. Our rage is sacred. Let it be the fuel for transformational fires. Our pleasures are sacred. Let them be sacrificed to gratitude for the abundance that we have and for those that have not. Our love is sacred. Let it be sacrificed to purify the waters that nourish the ethers. When we sacrifice those things that are both burdensome and brilliant in our lives we are gifted the glory of love and lightness.

When we cling to only the light we forget that divinity is within all, even the darkness. It is without acceptance of the magnitude of genuine grace when we wish to only dwell in the light. Without the darkness there is no light, and without the light there is no dark. Day does not exist if it weren’t for the duality of night. It is in the darkness that light is needed. It is within androgyny that we find peace; being both, all and nothing seems a hard task. It asks us to slow time and masticate all things presented to us. In what way will we sacrifice this flavor? The linear becomes cyclical within the hands of space and time.

To make sacred the gamut of your life is a process of purification. Your emotions, your body, your health and environment will speak to these sacrifices. Clarity will be found in heart knowledge. Ask your precious heart what it desperately longs for and it will tell you what needs to be laid upon the altar.

New moons speak of death, birth, rebirth and seeds silently planted in the dark, they are the beginning and the end. Sacrifice, release, death, these are the fertile soul in which those seeds find nourishment to lay strong roots and fresh growth. The cycles of the moon reminds that everything within it’s time. As I think of this new moon I see clearly in my mind the death card in tarot. For a butterfly to be born a caterpillar must die. Neither can exist without the other. To navigate through the new moon energy, begin by dreaming your new reality. Our dreams only happen in the dark.

I will post a new moon ritual soon but for now, forgive, release and make what you have come through sacred.
