Dark Water

Sunset

The New Moon in Scorpio hales the death card into our consciousness. The night with no moon seems to suit the Scorpio season well. While the darkness is often concerning for most, it is the place of regeneration, growth, and building solid foundations. We don’t see the tree’s roots that nourish and support it. We don’t know the foundation of the beautiful architecture we appreciate and strive to accomplish. It is buried in the dark.

In the dark, healing occurs, whether it’s silent tears or bubbling laughter. In the dimming light, it’s time to let the fear go and embrace the truth that life feeds on death. Nothing is wasted. Our darkest moments mark our greatest triumphs.

The darkness guides us to release, understanding, endings, and transmutation. From the dark, we will bubble up into the light. We will rest, heal, grow, and strengthen in the darkness. There is more warmth in the darkness than we expect. Let this Scorpio Season teach you to honor life, not through the fear of death, but through its reverence of the future.

Why Hope

I speak to all manner of interesting people. Although I will be the first to admit that it’s not easy to offer love to all, that doesn’t mean I don’t try. I have also learned many new things and had beautiful experiences with brilliant healers and teachers, who have been easy to love.

The last two years have been so full of growth and healing on the inner landscape that I haven’t emerged for a while. This cocoon is starting to feel slightly restrictive, so it’s time to share. I am writing this now to share the vision.

There’s a question that keeps clearly ringing in my head. It is in my heart and surely etched into my soul: What is to become of this? How do we heal?

I know how easy it is to feel the rampant fear, confusion, and pain of every soul on this planet and even the Earth herself. It is all that anyone can focus on. It becomes this insurmountable mountain range of torrential dread. Not only do we not want to own it, but we also don’t want to acknowledge its existence.

Our future lies within the hope that we can look at it and see that it is not insurmountable. That there is beauty just behind the veil. We hope there is a wonderful future ahead of us. As odd as it sounds, there’s a profound need to look at the pain and devastation and imagine it full of peace and joy. We must believe we are the destructive, voracious caterpillar becoming the mature butterfly. We need to start by blaming no one. It is no one’s fault or everyone’s fault. That is the nature of forgiveness and connectivity with the underscore of a bit of quantum entanglement.

There are no accidents. This entire universe is based upon our ability to observe it. If we observe an insurmountable pile of heinous bullshit that no one will survive, then that is what is truly there. That is what was determined to be. Every particle in the universe aligned itself to make it so. None of the happy moments you experienced would have existed without the timeline of choices and circumstances that led to it. When you trade space in your heart for anything but unconditional love, that thing will come to be if it does not already exist. When we forgive the existence of fear, we can open to hope.

If I were a physicist, I would describe hope as the theory of everything. Our ability to hope for the best must begin to overcome our fear of the worst. When I think of humanity, my mind immediately plays the scene in which Harry Potter bought his wand. We are capable of great and terrible things. However, most people are neither great nor terrible. So when did we give up hope that people are naturally good, that forgiveness is easy, and that we are destined for beauty? You’re missing much of the picture if you’re looking out of a dirty window. We have to carry the presence of hope and forgiveness with us in every minute. They leave the door open for life and love. Your perspective is the one common denominator to everything that makes you give up hope.

Let hope be your compass, guiding you through the uncertainties of life. Don’t let the walls of fear and doubt you’ve built around yourself keep you from living fully. Safety is an illusion, but hope is real. Let it lead you, and live in hope. Before you know it, hope will become faith.

The Path

Closure and resolution are powerful medications. No war, fight, or abuse of power has ever come from love and forgiveness. Our free will is our true power. It is the seed of our divinity. The process of death, the pain we’ve endured, the life we live can be forever changed in one single choice. Did we choose to forgive? Did we choose to let the pain end with us?

Choosing to take responsibility for our life is a journey back to self over and over. Those who carry love and forgiveness in their hearts every day are those who have found this path. It is easy to say that you are…It is challenging to be. Allowing forgiveness to guide your heart means sacrificing your pain. It means surrendering your judgment. Carrying the pain of the world can seem a noble cause. Forgiving is difficult; carrying compassion for that pain and not being consumed is the purest means. It alleviates the weight of judgment and guilt.

Discernment is more than the ability to judge well. It is seeing the truth within and casting that truth forward. It is the responsibility to self that creates accountability toward our personal judgments. The ability to forgive allows the closure that hangs over the pain.  When pain enters our life from an outside source, our immediate response is to judge it. Labeling of it as bad for us stokes a rage of indignation. We become the judge, the jury, and the executioner. In our perception of self, we do not see the pain of the other. We wish to harm and carry that perception forward. It is true that bad things happen to good people. It is carrying the duality of good or bad; it is in asking why me, where the disconnect from the whole is, and in the voice of the ego, we perceive our pain as greater than any others. It closes the mind and heart to compassion. It locks us into the pain.

Starting to be compassionate to self is the first step to freeing ourselves from the pain that is innate to our very life. Recognizing the inner critic and the lack of perfection allows forgiveness to open the door to freedom. Compassion for self means allowing the voices in our heads to be recognized for what they are. They are the echoes of the unresolved past. It is the perception of others bouncing off the walls of our minds. Ask those voices who they are to judge. You can only compare your uniqueness to your own. Your individuality and purity are your guides to being the perfection of you. No other can be you, and you can be no other. When you recognize the darkness in all of us and understand we each have the capacity to be the shadow, it is easier to forgive the darkness of others.

As the veil grows ever thinner, we are able to glimpse our eternity. We can see the beautiful depths of what is beyond ourselves and what is within. Great change happens one small step at a time. If we can begin to forgive ourselves, we will have more space to forgive others.

The New Moon Ritual

Sage bundle
beautiful hand wrapped white sage bundle

The New Moon is about making a wish; one spoken quietly to the universe to be made manifest through intention and stardust. The beauty of the new moon is that it is an empty vessel, what will you fill it with? As the new moon is about fresh starts and new growth it’s important to start your ritual with the same feeling. I like to clean my house, my body and energy field. The most effective way to do this is with white sage. After all, you don’t want to invite a goddess into a dirty space.

My personal preference is to use lemon and bay leaf in my daily cleaning. You can add salt water to the mix for a potent potion. I also like to play meditation music with a 432 hz tone. This sets the resonance for a sacred space. Remember that your personal preferences are very important. What makes you feel spritely, clean and new? Your cleansing ritual can be performed whenever you clean your home, not just on special occasions. It may be that I’m an earthy and orderly Capricorn but when it comes down to my home being out of order, I develop an almost OCD type of obsession with my cleansing rituals. Releasing the old allows for the space of the new. If a particular closet or storage space feels beyond your control; new moon energy is a great way to find a little order in what no longer serves you. The Creator Energy dislikes a void… It’s an open invitation for the new vibrant energies to come in.

Now that you have yourself and your space clean and tidy it’s time to begin your ritual. You will need a pen, paper, an envelope, matches or lighter, and green string or thread.

Begin by setting your sacred space. Envision a white bubble all around you, completely encompassing all of you. Ask for protection from whatever entities love you unconditionally and give them permission to guide and protect you. Then proceed to meditate and journal what it is that you want to manifest into your life. Ask your heart what your deepest desires are, let it lead you with pure intentions.

Once you have your list, look at ways in which you can achieve the goals. What needs to happen and in what order do they need to happen in? Add these to your notes. Be realistic in your desires. Is there something that you’ll need to return to school for? Is there equipment that you’ll need to invest in. How much time and money do you have to move forward?

Now that you’ve spent some time dreaming and checking in with yourself it’s time to create the most optimistic and fertile soil possible for your intentions. You need to believe that you are worthy. You need to let go of any sense of lack. Not being worthy and feeling lack are the two largest obstacles we have to face. The abandonment wound seeps into the deepest parts of our lives and it’s one that nearly everyone carries to some degree. The key ingredients to facing this hidden victim is forgiveness, the inner child, and gratitude. While these are all things to be worked on everyday, there is no need to allow it to consume you or take over your new moon ritual.

Take several deep breaths with the intention of breathing in the fresh life and healing energies on the inhale and releasing all that does not serve you on the exhale. Do this until you feel relaxed and entranced. Now imagine you living your dream. What does it look like? What does it feel like? Try to embue all of your senses with it. Let it fill you. Allow your imagination to take you to this new reality. Allow yourself to fall in love with it; be blissful within it, feel the joy of it.

Now take up your pen and a fresh piece of paper. Write a love letter to the Universe expressing your gratitude for all that you’ve received. Describe what it is that you want to make a reality as if you already have it, and you’re eternally grateful for this amazing dream come true. Once you’ve completed your letter fold it and tie with your green string. Wrap the string around it three times. Place it into your envelope and seal it. I like to place a bay leaf in the envelope with it. Now there are several options at this point. You can set it on your alter, bedside table or anyplace that you’re going to be reminded of it. You can also burn it or bury it, planting it in your garden with seeds that you wish to grow. Keep in mind that if you burn or bury your intentions then you should make sure that you are using paper that is nontoxic in every way. Wherever you decide to put your dreams and wishes is entirely up to you. No matter it’s eventual home as you place it, you should set verbal intention. Mine is as follows:

Thank you to the Divinity of the all for the abundance in my life. My deepest and most heartfelt gratitudes for the fertility before me. Thank you for the guidance, love and all that I receive within divine timing. With harm to none let my dreams become the reality I know. I am honored and humbled to be of your creation. Let it be.

I deeply encourage you to build your own rituals from these meager guidelines. Your personal flare is what will make it distinctly yours. Remember that it is not enough to merely wish for something. It is imperative that you put in the work, watch for the signs of the universe and follow the path that opens up for you. If you are too set on what it is that you asked for in the specific way in which you’ll receive it then you will block yourself.

With that I will leave you to your new moon shenanigans with much love, light and high vibrations for blessings.

To Make Sacred

To sacrifice is to make sacred. As the new moon illumes in the very near future we are being asked to surrender, to sacrifice that which does not serve our highest intentions. While we dream of our goals and set a new vision to begin we must first make sacrifices. Only the purest of modalities will do.

Our pain is sacred. Let us sacrifice it to lessons learned and embrace the blessings of wisdom to carry us through new beginnings. Our rage is sacred. Let it be the fuel for transformational fires. Our pleasures are sacred. Let them be sacrificed to gratitude for the abundance that we have and for those that have not. Our love is sacred. Let it be sacrificed to purify the waters that nourish the ethers. When we sacrifice those things that are both burdensome and brilliant in our lives we are gifted the glory of love and lightness.

When we cling to only the light we forget that divinity is within all, even the darkness. It is without acceptance of the magnitude of genuine grace when we wish to only dwell in the light. Without the darkness there is no light, and without the light there is no dark. Day does not exist if it weren’t for the duality of night. It is in the darkness that light is needed. It is within androgyny that we find peace; being both, all and nothing seems a hard task. It asks us to slow time and masticate all things presented to us. In what way will we sacrifice this flavor? The linear becomes cyclical within the hands of space and time.

To make sacred the gamut of your life is a process of purification. Your emotions, your body, your health and environment will speak to these sacrifices. Clarity will be found in heart knowledge. Ask your precious heart what it desperately longs for and it will tell you what needs to be laid upon the altar.

New moons speak of death, birth, rebirth and seeds silently planted in the dark, they are the beginning and the end. Sacrifice, release, death, these are the fertile soul in which those seeds find nourishment to lay strong roots and fresh growth. The cycles of the moon reminds that everything within it’s time. As I think of this new moon I see clearly in my mind the death card in tarot. For a butterfly to be born a caterpillar must die. Neither can exist without the other. To navigate through the new moon energy, begin by dreaming your new reality. Our dreams only happen in the dark.

I will post a new moon ritual soon but for now, forgive, release and make what you have come through sacred.

As We Pray

In the darkness of Thursday morning, a monster slammed into the gulf coast of the United States. Terror filled the news as the beast made landfall and threatened the livelihoods of hundreds of thousands of people.

We prayed. We prayed for mercy and grace to hold them all dearly. I pray that compassion will bind all the hearts involved.

This year is hard. I will not deny it’s brutality but I can say that it has come with an unprecedented beautiful side. Through the horrors and trial, through the pain of truth; we as people have found a way. We have discovered the depths of our hearts. Everything is amplified. That includes love, that includes compassion, that includes every stunning aspect of the human heart and spirit. While we pray, while we meditate and heal the duality, the judgements upon others and ourselves; we begin to forgive. As every structure that we have set our faiths into seems to disappear what is left is the simplicity of our very nature. The true soul of the human experience.

A birth is happening. Labor is painful. It’s bloody, messy and dangerous for both child and mother. There is inherent risk in simply being alive; in actively co creating. There is a choice being presented to every incarnation of the human race. We can set what holds us down aside, mourn it and leave it. Or it can be ripped from our bloody hands as we all come to the understanding that with the baggage we will not have the strength to survive the storm. We can leave behind the illusions that have always been a part of societal teachings and see the beauty in true freedom. The illusions that we are not enough and not deserving of the utopia that we all feel is just under the surface, waiting for us to work hard enough for it, win it in the lottery as if what we know is inherently safe.

True freedom is a heavy responsibility that every soul on this planet has denied itself. It requires discernment over judgemnt. It requires faith in the human race. No one is immune from life, it’s trials and pains but everyone has the capacity to love with a whole heart. The enormity of our reality on this beautiful and raging planet is that nothing is truly safe. It is the delicate dance of light and dark within us all. It is in the undoing of this balance that has tipped the scales. Without love and compassion in an economy we suffer under exploitation. Without the drive of ambition and leadership we wallow in our feelings. There is a need for an acceptance of both with the understanding that the ends never justify the means. What derives from a heart left squandered and barren is fruitless. As we pray, let us also be.

Soul Song

I’ve had the same song stuck in my head for three days. I look to the universe, ask my questions… and the music plays on. The frequencies in my ears rise and fall like eternal and ever-embracing waves. I smile knowingly, yet I do not know what I know… oh, but I know. The way this beautiful place is designed is strange. The Divinity of the All has come to me in the oddest places, and I find it utterly laughable that I am still happily surprised. I constantly feel as though I am a part of the joke.

Last week brought my physical reality of work to a halt. The ascension symptoms simply became overwhelming, and I knew that hibernation was coming. I awoke Wednesday morning and went about my day. I’ve been trying to accomplish a new type of reading—one that speaks of the soul’s journey and looks at why we are here. Deep questions, with simple answers…. ‘To ascend, my dear’.

I’m calling them the Soul Song readings. The first four will be out this weekend. The next four, the following weekend (hopefully), and so on.  I’ve acquired a new oracle deck that has had a profound and thunderous impact on me. I combined them with a strange, beautiful deck called the 72 Angels and a simple tarot spread. The readings are deep and challenging to interpret, to put it simply. I have accomplished four of them.

My days begin simply in meditation with my beautiful moss agate pendulum. I use it to check in on my chakras, balance, restore, and align. It’s a practice that I’ve been doing for about a month. I found that regularly, I was doing Sacral chakra work. I will explain this process to those who wish to give it a swing at the end of the blog. Wednesday morning was the same process. I accomplished the four readings I’d set as my task for the day and felt very drained. Almost as soon as they were done, I put on my headphones and took a two-hour-long nap. Once I awoke, I got the necessities accomplished and went back to bed. Thursday, I woke exhausted; the energy running up and down my body, primarily in my feet and hands, had made a full night’s sleep arduous. Violet flames filled my vision when I closed my eyes, and I knew I was receiving the healing required to move forward.

Thursday, I awoke exhausted. It was a rare day when I had several hours alone. I drank my water and attempted my coffee. Ultimately, I just couldn’t. I accepted that I would only put out those four readings this weekend and sat down to meditate. I went through the usual ritual. As I focused on my Sacral chakra, the pendulum seemed to take on a new life. Its swing was determined and strong. I could feel every tingle and vibration that had beset me in the last twelve hours working through my entire soma. I let my focus soften and mumbled my hushed gratitude for the blessing and healing I received as the pendulum’s swing slowed to a standstill. Its tip fell into the palm of my hand, and I burst into tears. What felt like years of torrents poured from my eyes. So many things rushed through my head, flashes of this moment, and that instantly flooded through my nervous system, and I let go.

The storm rose and then quieted enough for me to shower. Once I had showered, I laid down and let the rest of my healing set in with theta entrainment.  One word came from all of it, “Truth”. I had embraced the spirit of Aletheia. It was so pure and profound. It requires nothing but acceptance and surrender. Download complete, please commence with assimilation.

So ponder this, what is Divine Truth?

Chakra Work with a Pendulum

Sit comfortably, back straight, holding your pendulum in your right hand over your left palm. Give it a good swing to clear the energy, and then ask it to show you yes. Followed by showing you no. After several breaths and finding your ‘zen space,’ ask the pendulum if your Root chakra is aligned, balanced, and open. Repeat the question until you have an answer. Focus only on the question. I always thank my pendulum after the answer before I move on to the next chakra. Follow the same protocol for the Sacral, Solar Plexus, Heart, Throat, Third Eye, and Crown. Note your answers. Once you’ve reviewed your questions, return to your no’s. Focusing on the area, envisioning the color accompanying the chakra, ask your pendulum to open, heal, and align the chakra. Let the pendulum swing of its own accord (remaining in the right hand over the left). Once the pendulum falls still, move on to the next chakra.

Please keep in mind that healing requires water, rest, and grounding. Be gentle with yourself in the days that follow. Journal, cry… whatever is required. Let healing be your truth, and let it guide you. Much love to you and blessings on your journey.
