Today, I want to share a beautiful update about how our formulations are evolving to reflect our deep commitment to botanical purity and healing our planet.
True alchemy and magic are deeply connected to the natural world. When we work with plant medicines, energetic crystals, and botanical extracts, we are pulling directly from nature’s profound wisdom. We believe offering you clean beauty also means we have a responsibility to our only home: planet Earth. We are making a conscious shift in our ingredient deck to elevate our product line and deepen the sacred environment we strive to create for your daily rituals.
In skincare formulation, an emulsifier is the magical ingredient binding water and oil in harmony, creating your favorite hydrating miracle creams, lotions and serums. In the past, we used Emulsifying Wax NF and BTMS 50. We always sourced purely plant-based versions of these from 33rd Parallel, and they did a beautiful job of keeping our products stable. As we deepen our craft, we want you to feel assured that our move to cleaner, more transparent ingredients aligns with our values of sacred alchemy and respect for the earth. This transition is designed to enhance your trust and confidence in our commitment to quality and sustainability.
We are absolutely thrilled to bring two incredibly clean, green ingredients into our handcrafted apothecary. First, we are transitioning our body creams to Montanov 68. This lovely emulsifier is derived from naturally occurring sugars in cassava and coconut oil. It creates a unique liquid crystal structure that beautifully mimics the skin’s natural lipid barrier. This ensures you get profound, long-lasting hydration that rejuvenates and protects your skin. It is an ECOCERT-approved ingredient, which means it is verified to come from renewable plant sources and honors the earth’s natural cycles rather than depleting them.
We are also welcoming Varisoft into our facial formulas. This ECOCERT-approved, plant-derived ingredient delivers a luxuriously silky feel while remaining fully biodegradable. Its natural breakdown process respects the planet’s delicate ecosystems, aligning with our botanical minimalist aesthetic and eco-conscious values.
Our deep reverence for the earth extends directly to the bases of our creams and lotions. We craft our beautifully infused oils with certified organic grapeseed oil and certified raw organic botanicals. Wherever possible, we also use certified organic essential oils to ensure your skin receives the purest plant medicine. Our organic essential oil offerings currently feature evening primrose, patchouli, myrrh, sea buckthorn, frankincense, cedarwood, and blue tansy, among many others. Like a flourishing garden, our apothecary is ever-growing in certified organic essential oils, offering both their scent and healing properties.
This transition is happening slowly over the next month or so. As we thoughtfully handcraft these new batches, they will gracefully replace our older formulas in the shop. When you try our newly formulated products, you might notice a subtle, beautiful shift in the texture. We believe the vital energy of these pure, plant-derived ingredients will truly transform your daily beauty routines into grounding, restorative moments of self-love.
